MCHA Newsletter

November brings to close one of the most beautiful fall seasons Montana has experienced in years, as well as marks the end of our 2011 NCHA cutting year.  For the MCHA members still competing for those prestigious NCHA Top 15 World Buckles—You Go Guys & Good Luck—MCHA is proudly behind each and every one of you!!

The same can be said for all our MCHA members; trainers, non pros, amateurs and owners, that are headed to Fort Worth this month—You Go Guys & Good Luck—MCHA is proudly behind each and every one of you!!

A quick recap on our year end show:  show income of $1500 and $6000 raised from our auction==HUGE SUCCESS FOR MCHA!!!!  Thank You to all MCHA members and supporters!

The dedication and “can do” attitude of our membership was once again proven during the Northern International Livestock Exhibition held in Billings this past month.  After discussion and ideas were presented at the September General Membership Meeting on how to grow and enhance our sport and association, a Cutting Exhibition was put together and brought to the NILE courtesy of the Montana Cutting Horse Association. Karla Camp summed up this demonstration very well:  “We want to show the amazing instinct and ability of these horses to people unfamiliar with cutting.”  MCHA also had a booth inside the Western Expo during the NILE with the idea of letting people know that the sport of cutting caters to professionals and beginners alike, offering multiple divisions from the competitive “open” division to the newcomers’ “amateur division.  Both the booth and the exhibition held before the rodeo were a great resource for those who wanted to learn more about cutting and how to get involved in the sport, as well as our association.  A huge THANK YOU goes out to the following people whom participated in and put this event together:  Bill & Jann Parker, Will, Krista & Fallon Nuttall, Tim Johnson, Karla Camp, Tim Stryker and Theresa Nelson.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
